PTO Committees
We have a wide variety of committees that help out around the school. Volunteering can be a one-time thing, a once a month thing, or as-needed! Please fill out this Google form so we can help you find a good match for your volunteering interests!

Principal Advisory Council
Principal Advisory Councils (PACs) bring parents, school employees, students and community members together to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other's perspectives and share ideas for increasing student achievement and performance. PAC members act as a link between the school and the community. Below are general duties, but you can learn more here.
- Encourage the engagement of parents and other stakeholders within the school community
- Work to increase student achievement through transparent operations and shared best practices
- Review the Continuous School Improvement Plan and monitor progress toward goals
- Participate in the selection of the school principal
Classroom Needs
Room parent, copy helper, courier preparation, library volunteer, class party planner, field trip chaperones, mystery reader, LUNCH BUDDIES. Your classroom teacher and room parents will reach out to you for these volunteer opportunities.
Endowment Fund
(Formerly the Mustang Fund) The Endowment Fund is a not-for-profit fundraising organization dedicated to Montgomery Elementary School’s pursuit of excellence in education. Our mission is to support curriculum enhancements and capital improvements for the school by securing individual contributions, corporate donations and proceeds from community fundraising events. Level 3 Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer for field trips, you will need to complete Level 3 Volunteer training through the County and visit the County's safety office to complete a background check and get your official badge. (If you completed this process last year, please read below for how to renew!) If you would like to volunteer for school clubs or any other school-related activities where school staff may not be present, you also need to complete this training (or renew your badge).

Complete the Mandated Reporter Training online. This must be completed before moving on to the next step. Go to the Prosolutions training website and set up a free account.
Choose State: GA / Click Child Abuse and Neglect Course: Mandated Reporter / Click Start Course Complete QuizSave or print your certificate. Send a copy of your certificate to DCSDvolunteer@dekalbschoolsga.org
5. Complete Volunteer Training - either face-to-face or via Zoom.
